Terms & Conditions

University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) Batch ‘97, through the 2022 UPIS Homecoming Committee (“ALAB UPIS”), has developed the following terms and conditions for The Commemorative Bench Project (“The Bench Project”) whereby a Commemorative Bench (“The Bench”), designed by ALAB UPIS bearing the names of UP High School, UP Preparatory School, UP Elementary School, or UP Integrated School alumni, students, faculty, and staff will be installed at Ayala U.P. Town Center (“UPTC”) on Katipunan Road, Quezon City, the former site of the UP Integrated School. Proceeds from The Bench Project will fund ALAB UPIS’ 2022 Homecoming projects.

These terms and conditions aim to ensure the transparent and orderly receipt of donations and form part of The Bench Project Pricing and Payment Agreement. ALAB UPIS may also set additional rules and regulations to achieve the goals of the project.

The following terms and conditions shall apply to  persons participating in the Bench Project as individuals or as a group by virtue of (a) having attended or graduated from UP High School, UP Preparatory School, UP Elementary School, and UPIS; or (b) being current K-12 students of UPIS; or (c) having served/serving as faculty or staff of UPIS (collectively referred to herein as “Interested Parties”).

1.           Memorialization of Lagablab Benefactor slots on The Bench is available to all Interested Parties and consists of engraving an Interested Party’s chosen name with a maximum of forty (40) characters. One (1) family/barkada/organization/club/batch name will be allowed per slot.

 
 

2. Reservations

2.1.        Reservations will be accepted on a “first come first served” basis. Reservations received beyond the number of allocated slots will be placed on a waiting list and do not guarantee a final slot.

2.2.       A representative of the Interested Party shall submit a completed Reservation Form to begin the reservation process for their group. The submission of the Reservation Form does not guarantee a slot, and merely gives an  Interested Party the option to pay for a slot.

2.3.       The reservation period will run from June 30, 2022 - July 30, 2022.

2.4.      Only one (1) slot per Interested Party is allowed.

3.          Pricing and Payment

3.1.        Each Lagablab Benefactor slot is Php 97,000.00 and will be the same size as the slot for batches.

3.2.       To secure a slot, timely and full payment for the slot on The Bench is required.

3.3.      Payment must be made by July 30, 2022. If payment is not received by this date, the reservation will be released and offered to other Interested Parties on the waiting list, without need for any further notice.

4.          Rights and ownership. Interested Parties do not acquire any title or other property rights, including  ownership, usufruct, or tenancy over The Bench or the property on which it is erected.

5.          Engravings on The Bench will be subject to the final approval of the ALAB UPIS Design and Communications Team.

5.1.       The Bench’s current design is set to accommodate twenty (20) slots for batch/ Lagablab Benefactor slot engravings and fifty (50) Liyab Sponsor slots, but the final count may change and is subject to the sole and final decision of ALAB UPIS.

5.2.      The final design (including size, typography, and layout) and placement of the slots on The Bench shall be specified by the ALAB UPIS Design and Communications team.

5.3.      Each engraved slot is limited to forty (40) characters (including spaces). The font size will be larger than those in Liyab Sponsor slots.

5.4.      The famly/barkada/organization/club/batch name to be engraved cannot have vulgar, discriminatory, or promotional content, and shall be subject to the final approval of ALAB UPIS Design and Communications Team.

5.5.      A disapproved family/barkada/organization/club/batch name must be replaced by the concerned Interested Party before the deadline set by ALAB UPIS. If no approved name is submitted before the deadline set for paid slots, the paid slot will have “Anonymous Donor” inscribed. 

5.6.      Substitution of names of Interested Parties may be made before the final deadline set by ALAB UPIS. A formal request to change a name should be made by email to alabupis@gmail.com.

5.7.      No additional engravings will be made once The Bench has been installed. 

5.8.      Interested Parties consent to and authorize the use by ALAB UPIS, its successors and/or assigns, of any formal name, nickname, alias, photograph, likeness, biographical information, affiliation, quotation, or other indicia of identity, in connection with any advertising, publicity, or other promotional projects, without further consent by any other persons. 

6.          Use and maintenance of The Bench will be decided by ALAB UPIS in coordination with, and subject to the approval of, U.P. Town Center.

6.1.        ALAB UPIS will endeavor to work a thorough and reasonable care and maintenance arrangement of The Bench with U.P. Town Center. However, ALAB UPIS and its members assume no liability for destruction or damage, including wear and tear, to The Bench including the engravings thereon.

6.2.      The Bench may be visited according to the schedule of U.P. Town Center.

6.3.      The Bench location shall be determined by ALAB UPIS with the approval of U.P. Town Center.

6.4.      ALAB UPIS may consent to the temporary removal of The Bench or any piece/part thereof for any repairs or improvements of The Bench or on/around the place where it stands as well as the bench’s permanent relocation if the original placement is no longer ideal.

7. Interested Parties bind their estate, devisees and assigns to fulfilling the obligations and exercising the privileges herein.
